Abraham Austen married Sarah Standen in 1799 at Monkton. His birthplace was possibly Stourmouth. Most of his descendants remained in Thanet with Frank, a great grandson, who established Rediffusion in the 1930s, one of the most notable; Arthur Charles, another great grandson, was an Anglican vicar at the Hague. A grandson, Henry and his wife Mary Ann emigrated to Tasmania, Australia in 1883. As at 2001, there were details on eight generations.
